Two Fraudsters Posing as Provincial Employees Swindle Hundreds in Malang

Two residents of Malang have been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Malang Police after allegedly defrauding hundreds of people by claiming to be employees of a regional government-owned enterprise (BUMD) belonging to the East Java Provincial Government. One of the suspects even claimed to be an aide to the governor to convince victims to participate in a fictitious micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMKM) empowerment programme, causing losses amounting to tens of millions of rupiah.
