Two foreign nationals (WNA) were arrested during a joint foreign surveillance operation conducted by the South Jakarta Immigration Office (Kanim), Class I Special Non-TPI, resulting in deportation sanctions being imposed on both individuals.

“For their actions, both WNA were ultimately subjected to immigration administrative measures in the form of deportation,” according to a statement from the South Jakarta Immigration Office via the @kanimjaksel Instagram account on Thursday, 26 February 2026.

The deportations were carried out via Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, with direct escort by South Jakarta Immigration Office personnel. Both WNA were found to have committed immigration violations involving the misuse of residence permits.

The first WNA apprehended was a Chinese national with the initials ZN, who was working as a disc jockey (DJ). ZN held a visa on arrival (VoA), and his work as a DJ did not conform with the residence permit granted to him.

The second individual was a Thai national with the initials KS, who was found to be working as a dancer. This work was inconsistent with KS’s residence permit, which was issued as a free visa (visa-free entry).

Both were apprehended at a nightclub in the Kuningan area of Setiabudi, South Jakarta. Multiple agencies under TIMPORA (the Joint Task Force for Foreign Surveillance) were present, coordinated, and formed an advance team to conduct surveillance of the location.

“Both WNA were confirmed to be engaged in activities inconsistent with the residence permits issued to them in Indonesia,” the statement noted.

Following the surveillance results, both individuals were brought to the South Jakarta Immigration Office for further examination, after which they were subjected to immigration administrative measures in the form of deportation.

The individuals were apprehended during a joint foreign surveillance operation led by the South Jakarta Immigration Office. This operation involved multiple agencies including Pomdam Jaya, the Regional Police, BAIS, the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office, the South Jakarta City Stability and Security Agency, Military Sub-District Command 0504/South Jakarta, and the South Jakarta City Multi-Stakeholder Forum (FKDM).
