Two Fake Police Officers Arrested in Depok After Extorting Parking Attendants with Toy Gun
A video has emerged showing two men caught in the act by residents while posing as police officers at Depok Terminal. The pair’s modus operandi involved impersonating police officers to extort parking attendants.
“Two young men were caught red-handed by a resident, suspected of carrying out extortion against parking attendants at Depok Terminal,” said Depok Metropolitan Police’s Head of Public Relations, AKP Made Budi, in a statement on Thursday (19 February 2026).
Made said the suspects’ method involved forcibly demanding money. The two posed as police officers and carried a toy gun.
“Their modus operandi was to forcibly demand money while claiming to be police officers, carrying a toy gun,” he said.
Evidence seized included a jacket bearing the inscription ‘Resmob Polda Metro Jaya’ (Jakarta Metropolitan Police Mobile Criminal Investigation Unit), red cable ties, and a toy gun. The two suspects are currently being held at Depok Metropolitan Police for further investigation.
“A jacket, red cable ties, and a toy gun. They have now been secured by the Criminal Investigation Unit of Depok Metropolitan Police,” he concluded.
