Two die in fire, three injured

INDONESIA: Two people died and three others were injured when a gas tank blew up on Jl. Jagal Peternakan Kapuk, Cengkareng in West Jakarta and burned six houses at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The dead were identified as Hamami, 35, and Amim, 25, while the injured casualties were Jaelani, Saeful and Gunawan.

Eight fire trucks were deployed to extinguish the fire at the slum area.

The financial loss is estimated to reach about Rp 40 million (US$4,444). The people, who lost their houses, were accommodated in a temporary shelter made by the subdistrict officials. -- Antara
