Two die in collision

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: Two people died and two others were
seriously injured when a jeep collided with a truck on Sunday in
Natar, South Lampung, Antara reported yesterday.

Those who died were Desintia Everlyn, a 13-month old baby, and
her mother Lovina Aidaningsih, both passengers of the Vitara
Jeep. The infant died instantly while her mother died after she
was brought to the Abdul Muluk Hospital here.

Those who were injured were Yana and Yani, 14 years old.

The news agency reported that the jeep was part of a convoy of
vehicles passing a coconut plantation. The jeep tried to overtake
the cars in front of it, but hit the truck head-on.

A similar accident took place on Friday at the Kemuning
village, North Lampung, some 150 km north of the capital city of
Bandar Lampung.

Two speeding passenger buses collided, killing five and
injuring five others. (swe)
