Two Demonstrations Scheduled in Jakarta Today; Traffic Congestion Expected in Gambir and Senayan

JAKARTA — Two protest demonstrations will take place in the Central Jakarta area on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, Communications Officer of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, stated that the first demonstration will be held on Medan Merdeka Barat Street in Gambir.

“In the morning there will be a protest from the DAMRI Workers’ Union headquarters and several other mass elements,” Erlyn said in a written statement.

A total of 473 personnel from joint police units have been placed on standby to provide security for the demonstration in the Central Jakarta area today.

Traffic management measures at the demonstration sites will be implemented situationally, taking into account the number of people on the ground.

Erlyn appealed to the public to avoid areas surrounding the demonstrations to anticipate traffic congestion.

“Residents can seek other alternative routes whilst the demonstrations are taking place,” she said.
