Two Demonstrations in Jakarta Today, Crypto-Victim Protests Erupt

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Two demonstrations will be held in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (4 March 2026). The Public Relations Head of the Central Jakarta Police Resort, Erlyn Sumantri, said the first demonstration will take place on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Gambir. ‘In the morning there will be a rally from Wahid Hasyim Law Firm & Partners and several other groups,’ Erlyn said in a written statement. A total of 541 police personnel have been placed on standby to secure today’s demonstrations. Meanwhile, traffic engineering at the demonstration points will be conducted situationally, taking into account the number of people on the ground. Erlyn urged the public to avoid the area around the demonstrations to anticipate traffic congestion. ‘For residents, you can seek alternative routes during the demonstrations.’
