Two defendants in bank manager murder case ordered to pay restitution of up to Rp750 million

Jakarta - Two defendants in the case involving the alleged kidnapping and murder of a bank branch manager, identified by the initials MIP (37), have been ordered to pay restitution to the victim’s family amounting to between Rp500 million and Rp750 million.

“Sentencing defendant one and defendant two to pay restitution to the family of the late MIP as read,” stated Chief Judge Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto during the verdict reading at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, East Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Defendant one, Serka Mochamad Nasir, was ordered to pay additional restitution of Rp750 million no later than 30 days after the verdict becomes legally binding. Meanwhile, defendant two, Kopda Feri Herianto, was ordered to pay additional restitution of Rp500 million within the same timeframe.

Should the defendants fail to fulfil the restitution payments, the Military Prosecutor has ordered that defendant one must execute the payment within 14 days of receiving the order. Failure to comply may result in the seizure and auction of the defendant’s assets to satisfy the restitution within 30 days.

In the verdict, the panel of judges found defendant one, Serka Mochamad Nasir, guilty of the subsidiary charge of “jointly committing murder,” resulting in a 13-year prison sentence. Defendant two, Kopda Feri Herianto, was sentenced to seven years in prison after being found guilty of “jointly depriving a person of their liberty resulting in death.” Defendant three, Serka Frengky Yaru, received a one-year prison sentence for the same offence.

“Defendants one and two are also subject to the additional penalty of dismissal from military service,” said Fredy.

Previously, the defendants had been faced with a restitution claim of Rp5.8 billion on behalf of the victim’s family, following an investigation and loss assessment by the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). The restitution request was filed by the victim’s wife, Puspita Aulia, as the legal heir. In a letter dated 13 May 2026, the LPSK confirmed it had conducted thorough examinations and calculated the total losses suffered by the victim and his family.
