Two Defendants in Bank Manager Ilham's Kidnap-Murder Face 4 and 13-Year Prison Demands
Prosecutors have demanded prison sentences for two defendants in the murder case of bank branch manager M Ilham Pradipta, with Eka Wahyu facing four years and Erasmus alias Eras facing thirteen years. The prosecution argued both contributed to the kidnapping plan that ultimately led to Ilham Pradipta’s death.
The sentencing hearing took place at the East Jakarta District Court on Monday (22/6/2026). The demands were based on the roles and facts revealed during the trial.
Defendant Eka Wahyu was sentenced to four years in prison. He was found guilty of providing the means or information to commit a crime, based on his role of locating the address and following the victim, Mohammad Ilham Pradipta. “Sentencing the defendant Eka Wahyu Hidayatullah to 4 years in prison, reduced by the time already served in detention, with the order that the defendant remain in custody,” the prosecutor stated while reading the sentencing demand. The prosecutor confirmed Eka Wahyu was legally and convincingly proven guilty of facilitating a criminal act, as stipulated in Article 458 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 21 paragraphs 1 and 4 of Indonesian Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, defendant Erasmus alias Eras was sentenced to 13 years in prison. The prosecutor is convinced Eras participated in the act that caused the death of Ilham Pradipta. “Defendant Erasmus Wowo alias Eras has been legally and convincingly proven guilty of participating in the deprivation of another person’s life, as regulated in Article 458 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Indonesian Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code,” the prosecutor stated. “Sentencing the defendant Erasmus Wowo alias Eras to 13 years in prison, reduced by the time already served in arrest and detention, with the order that the defendant remain in custody.”
In addition to the prison sentences, the prosecutors also demanded restitution payments. Eka Wahyu was ordered to pay Rp 40.6 million, while Eras was ordered to pay Rp 100 million. Both are required to pay within 30 days of the verdict becoming legally binding. Failure to pay will result in an additional six months’ imprisonment for Eka and one year for Eras.
During the same hearing, the prosecutor also read out the sentencing demands for three other defendants considered the intellectual actors in Ilham Pradipta’s murder. The three, identified as Candy alias Ken, Dwi Hartono, and Antonius Aditya, each face a 15-year prison sentence. The prosecutor is convinced they are proven guilty of jointly participating in the deprivation of another person’s life. “Sentencing Defendant I, Candy alias Ken; Defendant II, Dwi Hartono; and Defendant III, Antonius Aditya, each to 15 years in prison,” the prosecutor stated.
The prosecutor noted that aggravating factors for Dwi Hartono and his co-defendants included their actions resulting in Ilham’s death and their evasive testimony during the trial. “The defendants gave convoluted statements, and Defendants I and II, Candy alias Ken and Dwi Hartono, have prior convictions,” the prosecutor added. The three were also ordered to pay restitution of Rp 1.05 billion each. If they fail to pay within 30 days of the final legally binding verdict, the restitution will be replaced with an additional three years in prison.
