Two-day seminar on national law
More than 120 experts from various fields are scheduled to attend a two-day seminar on national law which opens today at the Shangrila Hotel, Central Jakarta.
Dr. Kastorius Sinaga, the project officer of the 5th seminar on national law, told The Jakarta Post over the weekend the participants included politicians, economists and law experts.
Under the theme The Influence of Economic Law on Economic Development in Indonesia and Germany, the seminar is aimed at comparing Germany's experience with Indonesia in forming the legal frameworks in connection with the deregulation and privatization drives.
It is jointly organized by the Ministry of Justice, the National Law Guidance Body (BPHN ) and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) foundation.
Sinaga said the seminar will present Justice Minister Oetoyo Oetojo and German Ambassador Lewalter as keynote speakers, and a number of presenters, including Dr. Sunaryati, head of the BPHN, Djisman Simandjuntak, a noted economist, Dr. Wolfgang Bhardorf, chief of the Southeast Asian section at the German Chambers of Commerce and Trade, and Thomas Locher, economist from KAS.
