Two companies in Galang Batang SEZ fined over illegal foreign workers
Tanjungpinang (ANTARA) — The Kepulauan Riau Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans Kepri) has confirmed that two companies in the Galang Batang Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Bintan Regency, have been fined hundreds of millions of rupiah for employing 31 illegal foreign workers.
The two construction firms in question are PT Guanhuat Sukses Abadi and PT Huaqiang Konstruksi Indonesia.
"The fines were imposed pursuant to Decree of the Director General of Labour Inspection and Occupational Safety and Health Supervision Number 5/22/AS.00.01/II/2026 on the Imposition of Fines on PT Guanhuat Sukses Abadi, and Number 5/15/AS.00.01/II/2026 on PT Huaqiang Konstruksi Indonesia," said Disnakertrans Kepri Secretary Jhon Andariasta Barus in Tanjungpinang on Thursday.
Jhon stated that the total fine payable by both companies amounts to Rp354 million, to be deposited directly into the state treasury through the Ministry of Finance.
The breakdown is as follows: PT Guan Huat Sukses Abadi was fined Rp18 million for one foreign worker, whilst PT Huaqiang Konstruksi Indonesia was fined Rp336 million for 30 foreign workers.
Both companies committed administrative violations relating to the use of foreign workers in Indonesia, having failed to process the mandatory Foreign Worker Utilisation Plan (RPTKA) documentation with the Ministry of Manpower.
The RPTKA is a compulsory planning document for any company intending to employ foreign workers in Indonesia.
"All 31 foreign workers have been deported to their country of origin, China," he disclosed.
