Two companies get ISO-9000 certificates
JAKARTA (JP): PT Nalco Perkasa, a producer of specialty water
treatment chemicals, and PT Pertafenikki Engineering, a
construction and engineering firm, have won ISO-9000 quality
certificates in recognition of their management.
Nalco Perkasa, an affiliate of the Napan group, has been
awarded an ISO-9002 certificate from the Societe Generale de
Surveillance (SGS) International Certification Services of
Singapore in recognition of its management for the production of
quality water treatment chemicals.
The ISO-9002 certificate was presented by Erik Roger, SGS
International Certification Services' manager for Indonesia, to a
Nalco director, Daniel Ng, at the company's compound in
Citeureup, West Java, on Thursday.
"For the chemical business line, the award is the first to be
received by an Indonesian company," Nalco's director for finance,
H. Wardana, said.
Nalco now produces over 3,500 tons of specialty water
treatment chemicals per year.
Pertafenikki Engineering has also won an ISO-9001 certificate
from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Ltd. (LRQA) of Britain
for their professional management in the oil, gas, petrochemical
and chemical industries.
The ISO-9001 certificate was presented by D. Prananta, LRQA's
principal surveyor for Indonesia, to Pertafenikki's president,
George The, here on Wednesday.
"By this, Pertafenikki has become the first Indonesian
Engineering contractor in the field of oil, gas, petrochemical
and chemical to be awarded a ISO-9001 certificate from LRQA," The
said.
According to The, his company has so far expanded its
engineering services to Singapore, Algeria and Thailand.
