Two Classrooms at SDN in Pandeglang Damaged Due to Land Movement
Two classrooms at SDN Kutakarang 3 in Cibaliung sub-district, Pandeglang regency, Banten, have experienced severe damage. The damage is due to land movement. “It was damaged because the soil moved; the building is only one year old,” said teacher at SDN Kutakarang 3, Ade, when confirmed on Monday (6/4/2026). Ade stated that severe damage has occurred to the walls, and the classroom floor has subsided, nearly causing collapse. According to her, the damage has been present since the beginning of 2026, and over time, it has spread further, making it highly concerning. “Cracks have been there since the beginning of 2026; severe damage occurred in March, with the cracks starting to spread,” she said. Ade explained that due to this condition, students are participating in learning activities in the kitchen and library. This is being done so that the teaching and learning process (KBM) can continue, despite the limitations. “For now, the students are learning in the kitchen and library,” she said. The school has already reported the condition to the Pandeglang regency government (Pemkab). However, to date, there is no certainty. “There is no certainty yet on what will be done,” she said. Ade continued that personnel from the school construction contractor have carried out handling by separating the damaged building from the intact one. This step was taken so that the damage does not spread to other buildings. “The handling from the contractor side is to cut it off first so that the intact classrooms are not pulled along with the damaged ones,” she concluded.
