Denpasar Immigration deported two foreign nationals from China after they opened an illegal practice at a private hospital.

The doctors were a 40-year-old woman identified by the initials QL and an 18-year-old man identified as LW.

Denpasar Immigration Office head R Haryo Sakti said the pair were subject to administrative immigration action in the form of deportation after allegedly working covertly at a private hospital on Bali without the appropriate residence permits or practising licences.

“The two foreign nationals are considered to have violated immigration provisions as referred to in Article 75, paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration,” Haryo Sakti said in a written statement on Sunday (11 October).

The illegal practice came to light following a report from members of the public. Immigration officers then followed up by conducting surveillance at the private hospital where the pair were working.

When officers arrived, neither was practising. They checked the two foreign nationals’ passports and brought them to the Denpasar Immigration Office for clarification and further questioning.

Records showed that both arrived in Indonesia around July 2026, and questioning found that they had entered the country on visitor visas.

“However, in practice, they worked as doctors at a private hospital in Denpasar,” he added.

The two foreign nationals were deported on Tuesday (29 September), from 9.30pm Central Indonesia Time onwards, via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

They travelled on Xiamen Airlines flights. QL departed on flights MF892 and MF8127 on the Denpasar–Beijing route, while LW travelled on flights MF892 and MF8337 on the Denpasar–Wuhan route.

“Every foreign national in Indonesia must comply with the immigration rules in force. If violations are found, immigration will take action in accordance with the law. This reflects our commitment to safeguarding the region and providing professional services in line with the spirit of immigration for the people,” he said.
