Two residents of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), have been arrested by police while carrying more than 60 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The pair were apprehended at the Dasan Tereng public petrol station (SPBU) in Narmada District, West Lombok. “We have again successfully secured two suspects with evidence of methamphetamine weighing 60.87 grams,” said Mataram Police Narcotics Unit Chief AKP Remanto on Sunday (5/7/2026). The two were arrested on Saturday (4/7/2026) evening. They have been identified by the initials T (36), a resident of Montong Terep Village, East Praya District, and LDH (34), a resident of Bujak Village, Batukliang District. According to Remanto, the weight of the evidence found indicates that the pair were not merely users. They are strongly suspected of playing a significant role in a drug distribution network. “These two suspects are strongly believed to be part of a narcotics trafficking network operating in the Lombok Island region,” he stated. Police are currently conducting further investigations to determine the origin of the drugs and the possible involvement of other parties. Both suspects are now being held at the Mataram Police Station for further examination. “We are still developing the case to uncover the chain of narcotics distribution, which is suspected of involving a wider network,” he concluded.
