Police have arrested two perpetrators of property theft in the Bekasi area of West Java. The pair were apprehended in Gandoang Village, Cileungsi District, Bogor, West Java.

“Cileungsi Police successfully detained two suspects involved in theft using the window-smashing method at a rented house in the Gandoang area,” said Cileungsi Police Chief Kompol Edison, as quoted on Friday (20 February 2026).

The arrest was carried out on Tuesday (17 February). The investigation began following a report from a member of the public who had fallen victim to the crime in the Bekasi area.

“The victim subsequently reported the incident to Cileungsi Police after detecting that the suspects’ position was in the Cileungsi area, specifically in Gandoang,” he explained.

Edison and his officers then immediately raided the rented house serving as the suspects’ hideout. The victim also joined the raid.

“Upon inspection, officers found the two suspects inside the rented premises,” he said.

At the property, police also recovered the victim’s bag. However, some of the victim’s valuables were no longer present.

“In addition, officers also discovered dozens of bags and wallets suspected to be proceeds of criminal activity,” he revealed.

Police then conducted an examination. As a result, various important documents belonging to the victim were found, including an identity card, vehicle registration certificate, driving licence, motorcycle keys, ATM card, savings book, and a flash drive.

“Meanwhile, valuable items such as mobile phones and laptops were not found at the location,” he added.

The two suspects were subsequently transferred to police in Bekasi for further investigation, as the location of the theft fell within that jurisdiction.
