Jakarta – PT Astra International Tbk (Astra) maintained growth in its two main business segments during the first half of 2026. Net profit from the automotive business rose 9% to Rp5.9 trillion, while the financial services business grew 6% to Rp4.6 trillion.

President Director of PT Astra International Tbk Rudy stated that the growth in the automotive and financial services sectors demonstrates the Astra Group’s resilience in facing dynamic business conditions. The positive performance of these two sectors served as a buffer for the company amid pressure on the mining solutions and heavy equipment businesses.

“In the first semester of 2026, the Group recorded increased contributions from the automotive and financial services businesses. However, a decline in contribution from the mining solutions and heavy equipment business resulted in an overall decrease in the Group’s net profit,” Rudy said in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, 4 August 2026.

On a consolidated basis, Astra International posted net revenue of Rp157.9 trillion in the first half of 2026, a 3% decrease compared to Rp162.9 trillion in the same period last year. Net profit, excluding non-recurring items, reached Rp14.9 trillion, down 7% from Rp16 trillion. After accounting for non-recurring items amounting to Rp2.4 trillion, the Group’s net profit was recorded at Rp12.5 trillion. These non-recurring items mainly consisted of fair value adjustments of equity investments and impairment charges. The financial report for the period ended 30 June 2026 is unaudited and has been prepared in accordance with Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards.

The growth in Astra’s automotive business was supported by an increase in new car sales and a strong contribution from the components division. National car sales grew 16% in the first half of 2026 to 437,000 units, while the Astra Group’s car sales increased by 10%. The Group maintained a 51% share of the car market, with Toyota and Daihatsu remaining the first and second best-selling car brands in Indonesia. In the two-wheeler market, national motorcycle sales rose 1% to 3.1 million units, with Honda motorcycle sales also increasing by 1% and holding a market share of 77%. The net profit contribution of the components division surged 23% to Rp921 billion, supported by increased contributions from all segments. Positive developments were also seen in the mobility division, where the Group’s used car sales increased by 4% to 15,700 units, while the number of vehicles under contract grew by 13% to 29,200 units.
