Two Brimob Officers Slashed: Four Debt Collectors Arrested, TNI Personnel Under Investigation

The investigation into the assault on two members of the Banten Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) allegedly perpetrated by a group of debt collectors in Serang City continues to progress. After previously arresting two suspects, police have apprehended two more individuals believed to be involved in the brutal attack. With the latest arrests, a total of four people have been detained in connection with the incident that left two Brimob personnel with slash wounds to their heads, hands, and faces. Banten Police Director of General Criminal Investigation, Senior Commissioner Dian Setyawan, stated on Thursday, 4 June 2026, that the two newly arrested suspects bear the initials GB and MM, bringing the number of suspects in custody to four. According to Dian, all four suspects were present at the scene during the incident and played different roles in the assault. The suspects were involved in throwing stones, making threats, extortion, and attempting to seize the victim’s vehicle, a 2024 Daihatsu Xenia. Although four individuals have been arrested, the manhunt continues. Police stated that at least six other people have been identified and are now on the wanted list. The suspects are being charged with multiple articles related to assault, threats, and extortion. Amid the developing case, a new fact has emerged that has drawn significant attention. An individual army soldier with the rank of Corporal, identified by the initial R, is suspected of being involved. Corporal R has been examined by the III/4 Serang Military Police Detachment to investigate the allegations. So far, he is the sole TNI member suspected in the case. The investigation is still ongoing, and the legal status of Corporal R awaits the results of further examination. Head of Information for the III/Siliwangi Regional Military Command, Colonel Inf Mahmuddin Abdillah, confirmed that the military police are still conducting the inquiry.
