Two bodies found, with stab wounds

JAKARTA (JP): Two male bodies, each marked with a dozen stab wounds, were found in two separate locations here on Tuesday.

Morgue staff at the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital (RSCM) identified the first corpse as Hidayat bin Cecep, 21, and the second as Mawardji, 26.

Hidayat was found with 13 stab wounds, some 300 meters from his residence in the Pondok Pucung village of Pondok Aren, Tangerang.

Mawardji, a resident of Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, was found under the Permata Hijau bridge, South Jakarta, with 12 stab wounds.

City police spokesman Sr. Comr. Anton Bachrul Alam said that police had yet to find a link between the cases, and that Tangerang Police were currently handling the Hidayat case, while South Jakarta Police were handling Mawardji's.

"In the case of Hidayat, who was a farmer, police say that his family last saw him on Monday night, and that he had no enemies," Anton said.

"In Mawardji's case, South Jakarta police suspect that he was murdered by his friend. Give us time to investigate the case further." (ylt)
