BEKASI — Two individuals previously reported missing in a landslide incident at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Centre (TPST) in Bekasi City have been confirmed alive. The information was received by the Search and Rescue team on Monday afternoon, 9 March 2026.

“At 16:57 WIB we received information from police that the victims named Ato and Dofir are safe and have returned to their respective homes,” said Jakarta SAR Office Chief Desiana Kartika Bahari on Monday evening.

Additionally, Desiana announced an update to the identity of one victim previously discovered at 12:05 WIB. “At 16:00 WIB we received information from the DVI team identifying the victim as Jussova Situmorang, a 38-year-old woman,” she said.

On Monday afternoon, a joint team discovered another victim’s body buried under waste near a drainage ditch. “Another person was found deceased. At 18:30 WIB the body was successfully evacuated,” Desiana said.

The victim was identified as a man named Hardianto. The body was subsequently transported to Polri Kramat Jati Hospital for further handling.

With this development, as of Monday evening one victim remained unaccounted for: Riki, also known as Buyung. “The search will be narrowed down further since several of the recovered victims were found in close proximity to each other, including the fifth and sixth victims,” Desiana said.

“Information also indicates there was a food stall in that area, so people were likely gathering there,” she added.

Desiana also confirmed that all trucks previously reported buried in the waste collapse have now been located. “All vehicles have been accounted for and are no longer buried. Currently, we are focused on finding the victims, with just one person still unaccounted for,” she said.

During the search operations, rescue teams did not face weather-related obstacles. However, the hazardous terrain conditions posed significant health concerns for field personnel.
