The Cobra Team of the Karo Resort Police has once again delivered swift results, apprehending two suspects in a serious assault case less than 24 hours after the incident in Kabanjahe District. The suspects, identified by the initials BK (25) and RMS (27), were arrested on Monday, 27 July, at approximately 11.00 WIB at two different locations in the Kabanjahe area.

The assault occurred on Sunday, 26 July, at around 14.00 WIB at a boarding house on Jalan Letnan Rata Perangin-angin, Kabanjahe District. According to the police report, the victim was approached by the two suspects, who questioned him before he attempted to flee to a nearby restaurant out of fear. The suspects chased the victim down and allegedly assaulted him together, repeatedly punching him in the face with their bare hands.

As a result of the attack, the victim sustained injuries under the eye that caused bleeding and required medical treatment at Kabanjahe General Hospital before he filed a police report. Acting on the report, the Cobra Team, led by the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Hizkia Siagian, conducted an intensive investigation. Officers received information that one suspect was at a boarding house on Jalan Mariam Ginting, Gang Purba, while the other was at a boarding house on Jalan Letnan Rata Perangin-angin, Gang Melati. The team moved in and successfully detained both suspects without resistance before taking them to the Karo Police headquarters for further questioning.

Karo Police Chief AKBP Pebriandi Haloho, through Head of Public Relations AKP Pedoman Maha, stated that investigators are charging the suspects with serious assault under Article 466 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP). “The motive for the assault is still being investigated by our officers. We urge the public not to resolve issues through violence, as every unlawful act will be processed according to the applicable regulations,” Pedoman said.
