Two apprehended for drugs

JAKARTA: Police arrested two alleged ecstasy dealers and
confiscated 1,518 ecstasy pills, chemical substances and drug
manufacturing equipment in two separate busts earlier this week.

The two suspects had been under police surveillance, Antara
news agency reported on Friday.

The first to be booked was identified only as TRT following an
undercover operation on Jl. Enggano in Tanjung Priok, North
Jakarta, on Tuesday. The police confiscated 118 ecstasy pills
from TRT.

Further investigation revealed that TRT received the drugs
from another man, identified only as S, who was then caught in
the parking lot of the Town House of Rajawali Apartment in
Central Jakarta. S was in possession of 1,400 ecstasy pills.

Police officers then searched TRT's house in Muara Karang,
North Jakarta, and reportedly found various chemical substances
and equipment used to produce ecstasy.-- JP
