Two ANTARA Journalists Win KSAU Awards 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Two journalists from the National News Agency (LKBN) ANTARA have achieved distinction at the KSAU Awards 2026, a journalistic competition organised by the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU).
The two journalists, Walda Marison, who secured second place in the online media strategic issues category for the piece “Rafale Melesat Cepat, Bawa Indonesia Semakin Kuat” (Rafale Soars Fast, Making Indonesia Stronger), and Fitra Yogi, who won first place in the Photojournalism category for “Distribusi Bantuan ke Lokasi Terisolir di Agam” (Distribution of Aid to Isolated Locations in Agam).
The winners were announced at the GSG Suharnoko Harbani building, Air Force Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Tuesday.
The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (KSAU), Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono, stated in his opening remarks that the theme for the KSAU Awards 2026 was “Unlimited Service of the TNI AU AMPUH, Advanced Indonesia.”
During the event, the Air Force screened various journalistic works highlighting themes ranging from combat power development to the humanitarian aspects of Air Force personnel serving the community. “It also includes various stories regarding the presence of the Air Force in carrying out duties across various regions, situations, and types of assignments,” said Tonny.
All strategic and humanistic journalistic works were collected and reviewed. Tonny noted that 346 journalistic works were submitted to the jury. Following a rigorous selection process by a panel consisting of academics, members of the Press Council, the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), and practitioners, 15 best works were selected across various categories.
He expressed hope that this event would inspire journalists to produce high-quality work that enlightens the public. Tonny also hoped the opportunity would further strengthen the relationship between the press and the Air Force, enabling future collaboration in presenting quality news. “This is what I consider a very important value in the relationship between the Air Force and the press, where the Air Force requires the media to convey various information to the public openly and meaningfully,” Tonny added.
The Director of News at Perum LKKB ANTARA, Virgandhi Prayudantoro, expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the two ANTARA journalists. He noted that this achievement serves as proof that the state news agency can deliver high-quality journalistic performance not only to the state but also to the public.
“This is also a momentum for us as the state news agency, the national news agency, to provide something of significant quality that is well-received by the community,” said Virgandhi. He expressed hope that this achievement would motivate other LKBN ANTARA journalists to continue producing their best work. “In the future, reporters can provide added value beyond our duties as providers of Public Service Obligations (PSO); we can also make a significant contribution in terms of publishing activities related to ministries, agencies, and various institutions,” he concluded.
