Cukang Monteng Road (Kamojang Ibun) and Cijapati Road are two alternative routes in Bandung Regency that frequently serve as choices for homecoming travellers. These two routes require vigilance during the 2026 exodus period.

Both routes feature steep uphills and downhills. Insufficient lighting at several points has raised concerns about the possibility of accidents for passing motorists.

“We will continue to monitor the alternative route with the relevant teams,” said Bandung Police Resort Commander Kombes Aldi Subartono.

Monitoring is conducted directly by joint personnel from the Indonesian Military and National Police. Furthermore, these two alternative routes remain popular among travellers heading towards Garut Regency.

“So that all people travelling home will be safe and comfortable,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Bandung Regency Transportation Director Hilman Kadar revealed that various preparations have been carried out on these two alternative routes. One of them is the establishment of posts to serve travellers.

“Although Cijapati and Cukang Monteng (Ibun) are not among the recommended sections, the public continues to use them,” said Hilman.

His office stated that it had installed public street lighting in cooperation with the West Java Provincial Government. In addition, personnel have been reinforced along the alternative routes.
