Twins in Different Majors, But One Shared Dream?
Having a twin does not always mean sharing the same interests, choices, and educational paths. This is also true for Syakirana, known as Ana, and her twin sister Syakirani, or Ani, eleventh-grade students at SMK Al-Hasra who chose different majors.
Ana is studying in the Culinary Business major, while Ani chose Accounting. Being in the same cohort and growing up together, the two are now experiencing different learning journeys according to their chosen fields.
Ana spends more time studying the culinary world through practical learning, from getting to know ingredients and food processing techniques, cooking practice, to understanding service processes and managing activities in the culinary field.
Meanwhile, Ani gains learning experience related to accounting and finance. She studies how to manage, record, and understand various financial aspects that are an important part of any activity or business.
Although their practical experiences differ, that difference can become a strength when the two work together.
In a content challenge testing the chemistry between the twin sisters, Ana and Ani not only showed how in sync they are in answering various questions. Behind the fun, one interesting thing emerged: both apparently have plans to build a business together in the future.
If that plan is truly realised, Ani imagines her sister Ana taking a production role as a chef who develops products and ensures culinary quality. Meanwhile, Ani can take a role in financial management and become a finance consultant who helps ensure the business runs healthily and in a planned manner.
Two different majors can thus meet in one goal.
Ana, with her culinary skills, can focus on products and creativity in the kitchen. Ani, with her accounting competence, can help from the side of recording, planning, and financial management. The combination shows that every competency learned at a vocational school can have a role when students begin designing their futures.
The story of Ana and Ani is one illustration that education at SMK Al-Hasra not only directs students to master competencies according to their majors, but also encourages them to recognise their own potential and prepare career plans from their school years.
Different majors do not mean having to walk separately. In fact, when different competencies are combined, new opportunities can be created.
This spirit is in line with one of the mottos of SMK Al-Hasra graduates, namely BMW: Bekerja (Work), Melanjutkan Kuliah (Continue to University), and Wirausaha (Entrepreneurship). Three future options that are part of the school’s effort to prepare students to have the foundation to determine their steps after completing their education.
For Ana and Ani, the journey towards a joint business may still be long. However, having a picture of what they want to do since eleventh grade is an initial step.
One twin chose the culinary world. The other delves into accounting. Two different skills, but they can be brought together in one dream: building a business together.
