Citing a Reuters report on Monday (13/07/2026), although the death toll continues to rise as data is updated, the officially recorded number of injured remains unchanged from previous figures, holding steady at 16,740 people. Meanwhile, local rescue authorities have so far managed to evacuate and save 6,462 people from the rubble of affected buildings. The humanitarian catastrophe caused by the twin earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, which first hit the country on 24 June, has also triggered a large-scale displacement crisis across various affected regions. Based on the latest statistical details released by the government, the total number of residents who have lost their homes and are now displaced has reached 17,907 people. The epicentres of the massive twin earthquakes, located close to the northern coastal region and densely populated areas, are the main factor behind the massive scale of infrastructure damage in Venezuela. The successive strong tremors that collapsed housing complexes and public facilities mean the total death toll is predicted to continue climbing in the coming weeks.
