Twin babies found dead

MUARA TEWEH, Central Kalimantan: The bodies of dead baby twins were found floating face down in Barito river on July 25, police said yesterday.

Barito Utara's deputy police chief, Maj. Soetoyo, said the babies were though to be newborns and that the authorities had not yet determined if the twins were murdered or drowned accidentally.

"We have sent the babies to the Muara Teweh General Hospital for autopsy," Soetoyo was quoted by Antara as saying.

The babies, a boy and a girl, were spotted face down by a pedicab driver. (pan)
