Twilite Orchestra to play for DPD

JAKARTA: Indonesia's top classical music group, the Twilite Orchestra, will perform at the opening of the inaugural annual plenary meeting of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD).

DPD deputy speaker Irman Gusman said the group, which is led by Addie M.S., would play national, regional and heroic tunes for about one hour before the start of the meeting, scheduled for Tuesday.

"Their performance will help strengthen the sense of patriotism and brotherhood (among DPD members)," he said on Saturday.

"He (Addie) will perform for free," he added.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will attend the plenary meeting, during which he is expected to deliver a speech covering such topics as accelerating development in the regions. -- Antara
