Twenty-three injured in Jakarta bus crash on Corridor 13
“All 23 victims suffered minor injuries,” said Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Chief, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, in a statement on Monday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Injured passengers were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, Budi added.
“Traffic officers are evacuating victims, conducting a crime scene investigation, and managing traffic around the area,” he said.
Transjakarta confirmed the cause of the accident is still being investigated. The company pledged to handle the situation promptly and professionally to ensure passenger safety.
“The primary focus now is the safety of our passengers,” said Transjakarta Head of Public Relations and CSR Ayu Wardhani.
Reports indicated the collision caused significant damage to one bus, with several passengers sustaining minor injuries.
“Evacuation to the nearest bus stop was carried out quickly, and those with minor injuries have received medical care,” Ayu said.
Bus services on Corridor 13, including routes 13B (CBD Ciledug-Tegal Mampang) and L13E (Puri Beta-Pancoran), experienced delays due to congestion at Puri Beta 2 and near the JORR underpass.
