Twenty-Six Jakarta Residences Renovated Free of Charge, Cost Up to 55 Million Rupiah per Unit
Jakarta — Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung handed over 26 keys from the housing renovation programme to residents in Kelurahan Serdang, Kecamatan Kemayoran, Central Jakarta on Monday, 16 March 2026.
Each home renovated under this programme requires a budget of up to 55 million rupiah. The renovation process can typically be completed within three weeks.
“The budget required is between 50 million and 55 million rupiah, and it is usually completed over three weeks,” said Pramono during the inauguration.
At the beginning of this year, 26 homes had been completed and handed over to beneficiaries across various Jakarta districts. The breakdown includes 10 homes in Central Jakarta, 11 in South Jakarta, two in West Jakarta, two in East Jakarta, and one in North Jakarta.
Pramono explained that the housing renovation programme results from collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government, the National Zakat Board (Baznas) Bazis DKI Jakarta, and support from state-owned enterprises, state-owned companies, and private sector actors.
In 2026, a total of 663 homes will be renovated.
During the renovation process, homeowners are temporarily placed in rented accommodation, with costs covered by Baznas Bazis.
“Over three weeks, homeowners are provided with accommodation; after that, their homes are already renovated,” he said.
The proposals are then forwarded to the sub-district level for further processing. “The sub-district head will report through the respective area coordinator. For Central Jakarta, it is the Central Jakarta area coordinator, together with the city administrator,” said Akhmad.
The programme is prioritised for low-income residents whose homes are unfit for habitation.
