Twelve die of diarrhea

DILI, East Timor: At least 12 people have died from a diarrhea
outbreak in Bobonaro regency, about 180 kilometers west of here,
reports said yesterday.

The local station of the state-run Radio Republik Indonesia
(RRI) said that the provincial government had yet to send relief
aid to the stricken area.

Kornelius, an official of the Bobonaro health office, said
that the epidemic was spreading and the number of people affected
was increasing.

He said that the local government badly needs medicine. (yac)
