Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indian two- and three-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor has invested a total of US$250 million, equivalent to Rp4.2 trillion, since entering Indonesia’s automotive industry in 2006.

The investment funds have been channelled towards job creation, factory operations, and technology used to refine their vehicles, as well as various other projects.

“At the outset, we invested approximately US$50 million. Over the past 18 years, we have continued to invest every year in various projects, bringing the total investment to US$250 million,” said PT TMCI Director Rajesh Ramani in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.

“We are here for the long term, with a commitment to delivering superior, quality products that can be enjoyed by the Indonesian public,” he continued.

Ramani said the company is committed to growing the national economy, having created 700 jobs across various required sectors and successfully reaching 5,000 families indirectly impacted through suppliers, distributors, contractors, and other partners, both within and beyond the Karawang area.

TVS Indonesia’s long-term commitment is also demonstrated through its network of 49 dealerships spread across strategic locations in Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi.

This extensive network ensures customers have easier access to TVS products and reliable after-sales services, which serve as an important pillar in building long-term trust in the automotive industry.

This year, TVS Motor Company Indonesia celebrated the milestone of one million vehicles produced at its factory in Karawang, West Java, destined for 30 countries served by TVS.

To deliver vehicles that keep pace with current trends, TVS also continuously invests in modernising production facilities, expanding production capacity, and adopting advanced technology to ensure world-class product quality.

This achievement underscores Indonesia’s strategic role as one of TVS’s global manufacturing hubs, clearly reflected in the wide distribution of its output.

The majority of the one million two- and three-wheeled vehicles produced by TVS in Indonesia have been exported to major international markets in ASEAN, South Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Africa.
