Tutut celebrates her 55th birthday

Presidential hopeful Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana, affectionately known as Mbak Tutut, celebrated her 55th birthday on Friday evening at her residence on Jl. Yusuf Adiwinata, Central Jakarta.

The eldest daughter of former president Soeharto spent time with family members and friends, including close friend Gen. (ret.) R. Hartono and Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso. The Concern for the Nation Functional Party (PKPB), which is chaired by Hartono, has nominated her as it presidential candidate.

"Pak Harto is healthy, but it's difficult for him to speak," detik.com quoted Siti as replying when asked about her father's condition.

Just few hundred meters from Siti's house, President Megawati Soekarnoputri also celebrated her birthday at her official residence on Jl. Teuku Umar. Both women were born in Yogyakarta, but Megawati is older at 57. --JP
