Turns Out They Are Alumni! This Is Don Ritto, Named a Suspect Alongside Febrie Ardriansyah in 3 Corruption Cases
The National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) has named private citizen Don Ritto, alias DR, as a suspect in an investigation into three alleged corruption cases.
The three cases under investigation include alleged corruption in coal governance that triggered PLN blackouts, alleged corruption at PT Asabri (Persero) and PT Asuransi Jiwasraya, and alleged corruption in the settlement of PT Cakrawala Bintang Semesta (CBS) debts to PT Krakatau National Resources (KNI), a subsidiary of PT Krakatau Steel, during the 2020–2025 period.
Head of Kortastipidkor, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, said Don Ritto has been detained at the Metro Jaya Regional Police detention facility since Friday, 10 July 2026.
“Based on the case review, we have currently named two suspects, namely DR,” said Totok at a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office in Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta, on Saturday, 11 July 2026.
In addition to Don Ritto, investigators also named former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah as a suspect.
Totok explained that Don Ritto is suspected of committing money laundering offences stemming from the proceeds of corruption.
“We have applied Article 4 and/or Article 5, in conjunction with Article 10 of Law 8/2010, or Article 607 paragraph 1 letter b and paragraph 1 letter c of the new Criminal Code,” he said.
According to records, Don Ritto is an advocate and legal consultant holding Bachelor of Laws (SH) and Master of Laws (MH) degrees.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Jambi University in the 1989 intake. Febrie Adriansyah, meanwhile, entered the same faculty earlier, in 1986, before completing his undergraduate studies.
Don Ritto is thus Febrie Adriansyah’s junior at the Faculty of Law of Jambi University.
Don Ritto is also recorded as treasurer of the Jambi University Faculty of Law Alumni Association (IKA) for the 1989 intake, serving the 2022–2026 term.
In his career as an advocate, Don Ritto founded the Don Ritto & Associates law office in Jambi city on 29 December 1998. Around 2000, the office was relocated to Bandung, where it continues to provide advocacy and legal consultancy services.
Through his law office, Don Ritto has handled both litigation and non-litigation matters in civil, criminal, labour, state administrative, and corporate law. His legal representation has covered negotiations, mediation, and representing clients at the police, the prosecutor’s office, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), various courts, and the Supreme Court.
