Turnover at Motekar Preneur MSME Bazaar in Karawang exceeds Rp1 billion
The Motekar Prelar Preneur MSME Bazaar, which involved hundreds of micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) players at Karangpawitan Field in Karawang Regency, West Java, successfully achieved a total turnover of more than Rp1 billion.
Speaking in Karawang on Saturday, the Vice Regent of Karawang, Maslani, noted that Karawang’s transformation from a national rice granary into a strategic industrial hub has fostered a global ‘urban culture’ dynamic. He stated that urban lifestyles and the creativity of Karawang’s youth are no longer merely trends or hobbies, but have become a new force within the regional economy.
“Growing public purchasing power, the penchant for social gatherings, and the appreciation for local art and products serve as the fuel for the creative industry and MSMEs in our region,” he said.
According to the Vice Regent, the presence of MSME players, industrial tenants, creative service booths, and wellness services at the Motekar Preneur Bazaar recorded extraordinary economic achievements during the six-day event.
The bazaar, which took place from 5 to 12 September 2026 at Karangpawitan Field, featured 115 MSME booths and 30 industrial booths. A variety of Karawang’s flagship local products, ranging from culinary delights and fashion to crafts and industrial products, were showcased as part of the 393rd Anniversary celebrations of Karawang.
Alongside the MSME Bazaar, various events were held, including ‘Karawang Urban Culture’, a platform for entertainment featuring musical performances and showcases from local talents and communities.
Based on recapitulation data as of 10 September 2026, the total accumulated MSME sales reached more than Rp1 billion, specifically amounting to Rp1,160,233,985.
The Vice Regent emphasised that the Karawang Regency Government remains committed to supporting the development of local MSMEs and the creative economy.
The Regent of Karawang, Aep Syaepundoh, stated that supporting MSMEs is a vital component in driving regional economic growth. He noted that the Motekar Preneur Bazaar is not only part of the Karawang anniversary festivities but also serves as a space for MSMEs and industries to expand their markets and increase transactions.
“This is not just a bazaar. We want Karawang’s MSMEs to move up the value chain, for their products to become more widely known, and certainly to provide a direct impact on increasing community income,” he said.
