Türkiye intensifies diplomatic efforts amid Middle East tensions

Istanbul (ANTARA) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday (5 March) that tensions in the Middle East have reached a worrying level following air strikes against Iran and urged intensifying diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation. In Ankara, Erdogan said the regional situation had become very dire after the attack and that hundreds of civilians, including innocent children, had lost their lives. Erdogan stated that Türkiye would remain vigilant in protecting its borders and airspace. ‘If there is a risk to the security of our country, we will take all necessary measures in coordination with our allies,’ Erdogan said. Türkiye will continue its multifaceted diplomatic efforts to prevent further bloodshed in the region and to prevent tensions from rising to an uncontrollable point, Erdogan said.
