Turkey's president due here

JAKARTA (JP): Turkish President Suleyman Demirel is scheduled
to begin a three-day state visit here on Monday to strengthen
relations between his country and Indonesia.

Minister/State Secretary Moerdiono announced yesterday that
the talks between Demirel and President Soeharto are expected to
focus on ways of bolstering bilateral economic and trade ties.

His delegation of 130 will include First Lady Mrs. Namiye
Demirel and dozens of Turkish business executives, Moerdiono
said.

The Turkish president is currently in China on a five-day
visit.

His talks with Soeharto are scheduled for Tuesday. Upon his
arrival on Monday, he will pay a courtesy call to Vice President
Try Sutrisno and lay a wreath at the Heroes' Cemetery in
Kalibata. After meeting with Soeharto, Demirel on Tuesday will
address a gathering organized by the Indonesian Chamber of
Commerce and Industry at the Hilton Hotel.

He is slated to leave Indonesia on Wednesday.

Soeharto visited Turkey in 1985. (emb)
