Turkey Places Benjamin Netanyahu on Interpol Wanted List

Moscow (ANTARA) - A court in Istanbul, Turkey, has issued an international arrest warrant through Interpol for Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu, whom it deems a dangerous criminal.

According to a report by the Sabah newspaper on Tuesday, the judicial panel handling the case of the arrested Global Sumud Flotilla activists at Istanbul Criminal Court No. 11 ruled to place Netanyahu, as a suspect, on the Interpol wanted list.

In November 2025, the Istanbul prosecutor’s office issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and other leading Israeli figures over the genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Turkish authorities opened a new investigation after Israeli authorities detained participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which sought to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza last October.

Doctors, including psychologists, who examined the activists following their deportation from Israel, submitted evidence of crimes against humanity to the court.

The Global Sumud Flotilla participants said they planned to bring humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza in need.

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously described the Israeli navy’s actions as piracy, noting that attacks on peace activists constitute a grave violation of international law.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly condemned Netanyahu amid Israeli attacks on Iran and the Palestinian Hamas movement. He affirmed Ankara’s commitment to continue supporting countries that fall victim to Israeli aggression.
