The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that some of the corrupt funds flow from Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo was used to buy branded shoes. A moment of Regent Gatut appearing in Louis Vuitton (LV) shoes was recorded on social media.

An investigation by detikJatim found that the video of Gatut Sunu wearing LV shoes was visible at the open house and halalbihalal event held at his residence in Gandong Village, Bandung Subdistrict, Tulungagung, as reported by detikJatim on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

In the video uploaded to Gatut Sunu’s personal Instagram account, he appears wearing a white shirt, black trousers, a black peci cap, and shoes with the LV logo. The video clearly shows when Gatut distributes basic food aid to elderly residents.

Previously, the KPK’s Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, Brigadier General Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated during a press conference on Saturday (11/4) that Tulungagung Regent Gatut Wibowo and his aide, Dwi Yoga Ambal, have been designated as suspects in an alleged corruption case.

The modus operandi involved Gatut pressuring 16 regional apparatus organisations (OPD) to contribute Rp 5 billion. From that demand, Gatut has received deposits of Rp 2.7 billion.

“This money is suspected to have been used for personal interests such as buying branded shoes, of course. Then payments for medical treatment, dining banquets, and other personal needs,” Asep said.
