Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo Officially Detained by KPK, Hundreds of Millions in Funds Seized

Suspect Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo wears a detainee vest after being designated as a suspect and detained in connection with the results of a sting operation on alleged corruption crimes involving extortion and other gratuities in Tulungagung Regency for 2025-2026 at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, Saturday (11/4/2026). The KPK has officially designated and detained two suspects out of 13 people apprehended in a sting operation (OTT) within the Tulungagung Regency government environment, including Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his aide Dwi Yoga Ambal. The two suspects will be detained for the first 20 days for investigation purposes at the KPK’s Merah Putih Detention Centre. Meanwhile, the other 11 individuals are still undergoing intensive examination by the KPK investigative team. In this sting operation, the KPK secured several pieces of evidence, including documents, shoes, and cash of Rp335.4 million from the money already received by suspect GSW amounting to Rp2.7 billion out of a total demand of Rp5 billion.
