The Tuban Police Resort (Polres) has conducted a security readiness assembly for Operation Ketupat 2026 to ensure the safety and smooth celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. The operation involves combined personnel establishing several security checkpoints and monitoring posts throughout Tuban District.

The assembly, held at the Tuban Police Headquarters on Thursday, 12 March, was led by Tuban Police Chief AKB Alaiddin, accompanied by Tuban Military Commander (Dandim 0811) Lieutenant Colonel Galih Sakti Pramudyo and Tuban District Secretary Budi Wiyana. The event was attended by representatives from the District Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and comprised joint forces from the military and police, the Transportation Agency, Civil Police (Satpol-PP), Health Agency, and other related institutions.

The assembly aimed to assess the readiness of personnel and infrastructure to manage the Eid holiday exodus and return traffic safely. It also served as a cross-sectoral coordination forum to ensure a secure and conducive environment during Eid celebrations.

Operation Ketupat 2026 will run for 13 days, from 13 to 25 March, deploying combined personnel at various security checkpoints, service posts, and monitoring posts across Tuban District. The Police Chief stated that all Polres Tuban members, working with relevant agencies, are prepared to provide security during Eid celebrations, including protecting travellers and monitoring vacant homes left behind by those returning to their hometowns.

“Because many homes are empty while people travel, we will continue patrols to minimise crime,” the Police Chief said. He noted that vulnerable points are not fixed locations but emerge where criminal opportunities arise. To manage this, routine patrols will be deployed with shifting timings across risk periods.

To facilitate traveller safety and address potential issues, Polres Tuban has prepared three security posts and one service post. The placement differs from previous years: whilst last year security posts were located at tourist sites, this year they are focused at district border crossings—specifically at Soko Subdistrict (Tuban-Bojonegoro border), Widang Subdistrict (Tuban-Lamongan border), Bancar Subdistrict (Tuban, East Java-Rembang, Central Java border), plus one service post at Alon-alon, Tuban City centre. Despite the absence of security posts at tourist sites, patrols will continue in those areas.

The operation involves at least 180 Polres Tuban personnel assisted by combined forces from relevant agencies, though nearly all members will participate in implementation. The Police Chief emphasised that the military and police, supported by local government, have no rest days whilst protecting travellers for a safe and happy journey.

Through this operation, the community is expected to undertake their Eid holiday journey and celebrate safely, in an orderly manner and without disruption.
