The Head of the Tuban District Prosecutor’s Office (Kajari Tuban), Supardi, has been temporarily removed from his position after undergoing an intensive examination by the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Jatim) over alleged disciplinary violations.

Head of Legal Information at the East Java High Prosecutor’s Office, Adnan Sulistiyono, confirmed the examination. Alongside Supardi, the Head of the General Crimes Section (Kasi Pidum) of the Tuban Prosecutor’s Office, Akhmad Akhsan, was also examined for similar alleged violations.

“Last week, the Tuban Chief Prosecutor and the Head of General Crimes were suspected of committing indisciplinary acts in their duties, so an examination is currently being conducted by the supervisory division,” Adnan told journalists on Thursday (2/7).

Adnan declined to detail the specific form of the violations committed by the two officials. He stated that Supardi’s position is currently filled by Acting Head Abdul Rasyid. This was done to maintain the smooth operation of the office and ensure the objectivity of the examination process.

“To facilitate the examination process, a temporary acting official has been appointed for the duties at the Tuban Prosecutor’s Office,” Adnan explained.

The leadership change at the Tuban Prosecutor’s Office was first noticed by the public during the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration on Tuesday (30/6). The official social media account of the Tuban Prosecutor’s Office posted a Bhayangkara Day greeting featuring the photo and name of Abdul Rasyid as the new head, rather than Supardi. This anomaly triggered widespread speculation among the Tuban community.

On social media, allegations circulated that the disciplinary case is related to the handling of an illegal mining case implicating the Chief Prosecutor, the Head of General Crimes, and the Public Prosecutor handling the matter. The rumours intensified after an amateur video surfaced showing activity at the Tuban Chief Prosecutor’s official residence in the Simpang Lima area, Jalan Wahidin Sudirohusodo. In the video, the official residence appeared busy with several people visiting at night around 9:00 PM local time, with a black car parked in the yard and the gate wide open. Netizens framed the video as a raid.

Adnan Sulistiyono firmly denied the narrative of a search or raid. According to him, the activity in the video was nothing more than ordinary domestic business. “In that video, the children were putting in bed sheets and tidying up the Chief Prosecutor’s official residence,” Adnan clarified.
