TTU Man Voluntarily Surrenders Firearm to RI-Timor Leste Border Task Force

A man with the initials A (57) voluntarily surrendered one firearm to the RI-Timor Leste Border Task Force, West Sector, Yonarhanud 2 Kostrad. The surrender took place in Manamas Village, Naibenu Subdistrict, North Central Timor (TTU), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Monday (6/4/2026).

“Yes, one Springfield or homemade firearm has been surrendered by a resident to the Manamas Post in Naibenu Subdistrict,” said Manamas Post Commander Captain Arhanud Septo to detikBali on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

Septo explained that the surrender of the firearm stemmed from social communication conducted by Manamas Post personnel at A’s residence. During the process, the resident’s ownership of the weapon was revealed.

According to Septo, after explanations and a persuasive approach, A finally agreed to surrender the weapon voluntarily to the officers.

“This is an activity that is the fruit of our closeness with the community. In the future, we will continue to carry out beneficial activities for the community,” Septo clarified.

He emphasised that the RI-RDTL Border Task Force, West Sector, Yonarhanud 2 Kostrad, continues to intensify educational activities to strengthen public trust in border areas.
