Trusted data seen as foundation for strengthening Indonesia's economy

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Expert Staff to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Satya Hangga Yudha Widya Putra has assessed that trusted data serves as a crucial foundation for strengthening Indonesia’s economy.

According to him, in his statement in Jakarta on Friday, Indonesia has a significant opportunity to bolster its economic position amid global changes.

“This opportunity requires strengthening three main pillars, namely energy, investment, and competitiveness,” he said.

Speaking as a keynote speaker at the “CRIF Forum Indonesia 2026” in Jakarta on Thursday (20/8/2026), Hangga said these three pillars share a common foundation: trusted data.

“Accurate, integrated, and verifiable data is needed to strengthen decision-making, risk management, investment, sustainable financing, and the ESG agenda,” he stated.

During ministerial remarks at the same forum, Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri also emphasised that trust is a vital foundation for building trade relationships and cooperation.

According to her, this trust must be supported by credible information and data so that both the government and business actors can make more precise decisions, build strong partnerships, and enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global market.

“Indonesia needs to maintain energy resilience while accelerating the development of clean energy by utilising the potential of national resources,” she explained.

The investment pillar is needed to finance the energy transition and industrial development through an ecosystem that is transparent, stable, and provides certainty for investors.

Meanwhile, the competitiveness pillar needs to be strengthened through increased productivity, regulatory improvements, access to financing, and alignment with global standards.

Meanwhile, CRIF Indonesia Country Manager Bimar Antariksa emphasised that the increasingly complex business environment makes the need for accurate and reliable data ever more important for producing sound decisions.
