Trump's Threat to Destroy Iran if Negotiations Stall
US President Donald Trump has threatened to destroy Iran if the ongoing negotiations in Pakistan end in failure. Trump stated that his side is preparing with the best ammunition to strike Iran again if the agreement fails.
“We are readjusting. We are filling ships with the best ammunition, the best weapons ever made, even better than what we used before, and we have destroyed them,” Trump told the New York Post, as reported by Al Arabiya, quoted by detikNews on Saturday (11/4/2026).
It is known that US Vice President JD Vance departed for Islamabad, Pakistan, to lead the US delegation in negotiations with Iran. Trump alluded to the “total destruction” of Iran.
Vance will join the US Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to negotiate permanent peace after a two-week ceasefire was agreed between the US and Iran on Tuesday (7/4).
“We are filling ships with the best weapons ever made, even at a higher level than what we used before to carry out total destruction,” Trump emphasised in his statement.
“And if we do not reach an agreement, we will use them, and we will use them very effectively,” he warned.
Furthermore, Trump questioned the honesty of Iran’s negotiating team, led by the parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, as well as other Tehran officials.
Meanwhile, via the social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated that Iran “seems unaware that they have no cards, except for short-term extortion against the world using international waterways.”
“The only reason they are still alive today is to negotiate!” he remarked.
