Jared Kushner, special envoy and son-in-law of United States President Donald Trump, will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the next steps in implementing Trump’s plan for Gaza.

This was reported by The Jerusalem Post on Monday, citing unnamed Israeli officials.

According to the report, Kushner will be accompanied at the meeting by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Nickolay Mladenov, the high representative of the Peace Council for Gaza.

They are expected to pressure Netanyahu to proceed immediately with the next phase of the 20-point plan, including 15 points concerning the disarmament of Hamas.

Another objective of the meeting is to ensure the deployment of an International Stabilisation Force in Gaza, the source added.

On Sunday (16/8), Axios reported that Kushner had held talks with Hamas leaders in Egypt. Kushner also discussed the implementation of Trump’s plan for Gaza with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi during a meeting in El Alamein.

Under the agreement, Israeli forces would withdraw to the Yellow Line but would retain control of more than 50 percent of the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, at the end of July, the Peace Council announced that Hamas had agreed to a roadmap for implementing the next stages of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The plan includes the gradual transfer of control over the Gaza Strip to the National Committee for Gaza Administration, as well as the establishment of a special body to monitor violations by both Hamas and Israel.
