“A pretty tense night in Washington DC. The Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely. The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we ‘LET THE EVENT CONTINUE’ but it will be fully guided by Law Enforcement. They will make the decision soon. Regardless of the decision, tonight will be far different from what was planned, and we will just have to do it again,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social after being evacuated.
Trump was reportedly taken to the White House. The event was ultimately postponed.
