Trump Will Not Force Iran to Negotiate, Urges People to Rise Up!
US President Donald Trump has stated that he will not force Iran to the negotiating table, instead calling on the Iranian people to “rise up and fight.”
“I am not trying to force Iran to the negotiating table,” Trump said in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social. “I do not care if they sign an agreement that is worthless to them. I prefer our current position,” he said. Trump added that the US almost entirely controls the Strait of Hormuz and that the Iranian economy has “completely collapsed.”
“They are only playing the inevitable. When will the Iranian people rise up and fight?” Trump said, as reported by AFP news agency on Wednesday (2/9/2026).
His comments come as the US military announced it has completed its latest wave of attacks against Iran. The US military stated that it had struck targets belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as the conflict with Iran intensates following clashes last weekend.
US forces attacked IRGC targets “including air defence sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine-laying capabilities, and communication sites,” US Central Command (CENTCOM) wrote on the social media platform X.
Following the strikes, the US government issued new security warnings for its citizens currently in the Middle East. Washington authorities have urged citizens in the region to increase their vigilance.
The latest security warning, as reported by Al Arabiya and Middle East Monitor on Wednesday (2/9/2026), was released for almost all US Embassies in the Middle East, including in Israel, on Tuesday (1/9) local time.
“Due to tensions in the Middle East, the security situation remains complex with the potential for unexpected escalation,” the US Department of State said in its security alert.
“US citizens currently in the Middle East must increase vigilance and be aware of the possibility of flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions,” the US Department of State advisory stated.
“US citizens travelling to and from the region should monitor information regarding airport and airline operations,” the advisory added.
The US Department of State warned of the possibility of attacks targeting US interests abroad. It noted that US diplomatic facilities, including those outside the Middle East, have become targets.
“Iran and its proxy groups may target US interests abroad or locations associated with the United States and US citizens worldwide, including US businesses and other institutions,” the US Department of State stated in its security warning.
