Trump Warns Netanyahu: Be Careful or You'll Be on Your Own
United States (US) President Donald Trump has warned his ally, Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing pressure not to escalate tensions further with Iran. “I said, ‘Bibi, you’d better be careful, or you’ll be on your own soon’,” Trump stated, using Netanyahu’s nickname, as quoted by local Israeli media and reported by Al Arabiya on Tuesday (9/6/2026). Prominent US media outlet Axios, as reported by Reuters, also relayed the same warning from Trump to Netanyahu. According to Axios, which cited a US official source, Trump warned Netanyahu that he would be fighting alone if Israel went to war against Iran again.
In other international news, a US Apache attack helicopter crashed near the Iranian-controlled Strait of Hormuz. The two US military pilots were successfully rescued, with President Trump stating “the pilots are fine”. The cause of the crash remains unclear, with no confirmation on whether the helicopter was hit by Iranian fire, suffered engine failure, or encountered other problems.
Philippine authorities reported that the death toll from a magnitude 7.8 earthquake has risen to at least 41 people, with around four others still missing. The powerful quake, which struck off the coast of Sarangani Province on Mindanao Island on Monday (8/6) morning, caused widespread damage, collapsing buildings, disrupting power and water supplies, and triggering landslides. A tsunami warning was briefly issued.
Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci sparked anger from Israel by stating that Turkey would one day seize control of Jerusalem. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun asserted that Iran is not permitted to interfere in Lebanon’s internal affairs, accusing Tehran of “destroying Lebanon for your own interests.” In an interview with CNN, Aoun stated, “Other countries are trying to help us, but you are not trying to help us.
