Trump Warns Iran Will 'Pay Many Times Over' for US Troop Deaths

US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran will bear the consequences ‘many times over’ for the deaths of American soldiers in the ongoing conflict with the Islamic Republic.

Trump’s warning came after several US military personnel were killed over the weekend. The Pentagon confirmed the deaths of at least three service members, including two killed in an Iranian missile strike on a US base in Jordan. A third soldier died in northern Iraq.

‘Every time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay many times over for that murder,’ Trump wrote in a statement on his Truth Social platform.

The latest fatalities bring the total number of US troops killed in the conflict to at least 17 since fighting began in February. According to official US data, around 430 other soldiers have been wounded during the war. CBS News, citing US official sources, reported that nearly 100 US troops were injured by Iranian attacks throughout July alone.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the missile attack in Jordan in a statement on Saturday. The weekend marked one of the deadliest periods for US forces since the war against Iran commenced, following a March drone strike on a US-used base in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, which killed at least six American soldiers.

Trump stated that his directive had been communicated to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Daniel Caine, and every military leader. The warning comes as the US continues to conduct airstrikes against Iran, largely concentrated in the country’s southern region, while Tehran retaliates with barrages targeting US military facilities and bases in the area.
